What is Transform: 20?

Transform :20 is Shaun T’s (creator if Insanity!) newest program and he’s doing things a little differently this time.

It’s the perfect solution for busy people with just a 20 minute commitment!!

Each day will be a NEW workout — never repeating the same workout twice – 36 in all!

It’s not all about the physical transformation.

Yeah. This program is going to work your body — abs, legs, arms, booty — but it’s also about transforming the mind. On day 7 (your rest day) there will be a new weekly video to help sharpen your focus, visualize your goals, and push yourself!

What’s the nutrition plan for Transform :20?

You have the option of following two different meal plans for this program:

  1. The Transform :20 Meal Plan
  2. Or 2B Mindset

Just like many other Beachbody programs, the Transform :20 plan uses the Portion Fix container system. It gives you a simple formula to use to figure out which bracket you fall into and container counts for each day — simple!

What equipment is needed?

These workouts are 100% bodyweight — no weights. And there’s only ONE piece of equipment you’ll need, and it’s what Beachbody is calling “The Step.” Yeah, like the step used in step aerobics back in the day. But it’s 0% like that. I promise!

What are the workouts like?

I’m not going to lie, as I’ve read the reviews, the workouts are challenging — but they have to be! Remember, you’re only in it for 20 minutes, and it’s going to push you to your limit for that that entire 20 minutes. It’ll be hard, but nothing you can’t do, and the results will be totally worth it.

There are 3 Phases to the program: Commit, Climb, and Conquer. As you progress through each phase, the workouts get harder and the moves become more intricate.

There are 5 weekday workouts: Burn, Faster, Stronger, Powerful, and Cut. Each workout has a different focus. There will be lots of fast feet movements on the steps and plenty of pushups, burpees, and lots of ab work!

And finally one for the weekend: Balance. This consists of some lighter cardio and strength work, and lots of stretching.

When will Transform :20 be released?

This seems to be the new norm for our programs. It will launch in 2 phases:

  1. VIP Early Access: Starting December 4th the program will be on sale on, this means Challenge Packs, Completion Packs, Accessory Bundles, or Stand-Alone Digital VIP AccessEarly Access workouts for Transform :20 will be on Beachbody On Demand starting January 2019.
  2. Without Early Access: VIP Early Access begins January 14, 2019 all other BOD subscribers will gain access to the program starting April 1st, 2019.

80 Day Obsession




The definition of Obsession is the state of being obsessed with something or an idea that continually preoccupies or intrudes a persons’ mind. The word “obsession” didn’t sit well with me at first because I have been in a place before where I was ‘obsessed’ with my health and trust me, it wasn’t ‘healthy’. It led to deprivation, undereating, and restriction which then led to overeating, cravings, hormonal, digestive, and thyroid problems.  BUT there IS a way to be obsessed with your health and fitness and not let it CONTROL you! That was the intention with this program! The creator, Autumn Calabrese (trainer for 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, and Hammer & Chisel) stated that she wants people to see the importance of becoming obsessed with you taking care of YOU. She places a major emphasis not only on nutrition and exercise, but also on self care and sleep. The program incorporates how to be your best self! I could get on board with that!

80 Day Obsession consists of 80 NEW workouts – unlike most home workout videos, you can stream a new workout everyday throughout the program. It actually lasts 97 days with Sundays as your rest days. It has been described as a Total Body Workout with an emphasis on the core & glutes. It also contains a nutrition program that is paramount to anything I have ever seen for the price. You can customize it to your fitness goals and body’s needs. I have been playing with the nutrition plan over the last week and know that it will absolutely help you achieve your goals when you use it synergistically with the workouts.

Those little loops look like they wouldn’t do much, but let me tell you they can make my legs, booty, and arm muscles scream! Here are some examples of the moves with the bands below:

The Nutrition program sounds challenging, but in reality it’s super simple! You know how you get to a point in your fitness journey that you’re like, “JUST TELL ME WHAT TO DO! Tell me what to eat and when to eat it and tell me what workouts to do.” Have you ever been there? This program answers that question for you!

The plan is programmed around the time you workout with a pre and post-workout block. You are told to choose from a list of foods within certain food groups and combine them at certain times during the day for maximum effectiveness. In the past, I have used the portion controlled containers, but this takes the guesswork out of when to eat what!

You calculate which plan you fall into based on a formula that uses your current weight and then you see which Plan you fall into. I currently fall into “Plan A” but I have a feeling I wil be bumping up to the next level soon – when you work your body out like this you need more fuel!

Grilled Lemon & Rosemary Chicken

I am one of those that can eat the.same.thing every day for every meal – but those in my family aren’t wired the same way! I can get it a rut with same chicken marinade that I know will turn out delicious, but my taste testers get tired of the same balsamic flavor.

So… I am always on the hunt for delicious new grilled chicken marinades because we like to grill a lot of chicken at once to use later in the week on salads and for leftover lunches! It’s an easy protein snack as well.

Here is a recipe for grilled lemon & rosemary chicken — don’t be intimidated by zesting the lemons – it’s easy and doesn’t take much time, you just need the right tool!

Garlic and lemon make these rosemary grilled chicken breasts delicious!

  1. Rinse and pat chicken dry - place in a ziplock back
  2. Zest both the lemons over a small bowl
  3. Add juice of both lemons with all ingredients and combine
  4. Pour marinade over chicken and refrigerate for 30 minutes or overnight
  5. Pre-heat grill pan or grill over high heat
  6. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes/side
  7. Slice and serve

Clean Week: An Intro to Health & Fitness

This post goes out to all of you who follow me and my fitness journey but are not quite sure you want to commit to a full month of clean eating, 30 minute exercises, meal planning, and starting a new lifestyle!! I totally understand – it looks super overwhelming in the beginning, but I PROMISE it gets easier and I am by your side every step of the way!!  I absolutely love clean eating and I started my journey to improving my health after my youngest was born, almost 7 years ago!  I can say that I not only have lost weight by eating clean but I have totally transformed our families life with the way we are eating.  I am really excited to share with you a brand new tool to help you start understanding the basics of clean eating, introducing yourself to exercise with under 30 minutes a day just 4x a week and a sampler of Shakeology if you would like to give that a try!

How does Clean Week work?

Clean Week is a 7-day fitness and nutrition program designed to introduce you to a healthy lifestyle with new super trainer Megan Davies. You will get 4 workouts, a step-by-step meal planner, and a week’s supply of delicious Shakeology.

The Workouts

Clean Week comes with four 30-minute workouts: cardio, strength, core function, and flexibility. These workouts will be available for FREE on Beachbody on Demand starting October 3rd. You do not need to be a member to access these workouts. The only equipment required is a set of dumbbells for the strength workout. There will be an intensifier available if you want to kick up your workout a notch!!

The Nutrition Plan

There is NO calorie counting in this program!! You will receive a step-by-step meal planner that breaks it all down for you with delicious, nutritious foods and a sample supply of Shakeology, unless you already drink it!
